HD-CBO (Healthy Desire Community Based Organization) is a dedicated grassroots organization founded in 2020 and serving vulnerable populations in Homa Bay County, Kenya. We exist to uplift orphans, caregivers, widows, adolescent girls, teenage mothers, young women, and children by providing education, portable skills development, economic empowerment, and leveraging the power of sports to address critical social issues.
Over the years, HD-CBO has grown through strong community partnerships and donor support, expanding its programs to focus on HIV/AIDS awareness, orphan support, health education, and economic empowerment. We have trained 10 peer educators who have reached over 480 community members with HIV education, linked 110 individuals to HIV testing and services, and trained 20 Community Health Volunteers (CHVs) and 10 Traditional Birth Attendants (TBAs) whose efforts have contributed to more than 30 successful deliveries.
